The US DOT does not do an effective job of enforcing its own regulations and it’s because of TV Documentaries like this one, that more drivers stay clear of the thousands of Truck Drivers who do not obey the laws. The USDOT needs a centralized computer requiring all truck drivers to register annually, so we can weed out those drivers who have lost licenses in various states from ever driving on the road again. I have been on both sides of the spectrum both as a DOT Officer and a Professional Driver with over 1.6 Million Safe Miles. As Unfortunate that accident was, Your So Called Infomercial is what breeds stoop and squats by money crazed 4 wheelers along with disturbing actions by them on the road. And a I don’t really care because if YOU hit me I will call my Lawyer attitude. Really very disturbing seeing a Law firm in my State milking a BAD Tragedy. Gunney

well that is what the CDL program is for unless someone illegalyobtains a license they will know that their license has been suspended or revoked. Youu are right one count the bad drivers need to be off the road i’ll agree but if you look at statistics 76-77% of the time when a car and truck collide its the cars fault. So therefore there also needs to be more training for the newer drivers of how a truck operates to some degree.

@TruckingAtlasfilm Hi truckingatlasfilm. There really is not one part of your statement that I can argue with. Maybe the driver in this case was a bad one. But what about the condition of the truck? What caused the driver to run off to the other side of the road? Was he asleep at the wheel? Drunk or high? Did a tire blow out? What about the axles and suspension? This clip is just stunt for the attorneys to rake in more clients. Without trucks America is screwed!!
